LOVE, LIFE, AND JUSTICE

September 11 Tragedy

Rochelle Roybal is a junior at Pojoaque High School and it was an assignment given by her English teacher.

Thanks for publishing it. I thought she did an excellent job and I wanted them to see what this tragedy was like and how a 16-year old felt about it in her own heart and mind.

I awoke as if it was an ordinary day.
I turned on the news to hear the media say
Two planes collided into the twin towers.
Wondering who is guilty for these powers.
Tears from my eyes, pain inside
I prayed to God to keep these people alive.
Who would have the heart to do such a thing?
To believe that it was another human being.
Feeling different emotions running through my veins.
A thought so unbearable that brought great pain.
For those who suffered, injured or dead.
To those responsible, their future I dread
For everything we do in life comes back.
And the man who did this now under attack.
But one thing is clear, we will prevail.
Because the love we have for all will never fail.
