RISING FROM THE ASHES

Today we faced a trauma
that we never expected to see.
Our nation shall rise again
and conquer the threat of tyranny.
Brave men and women died today
beside the innocent May's child.
The faces of all who perished
brought hate, despair, and fear wild.
We each have made a commitment
to stand to the front.
We promise to be brave and strong
even in the midst of the brunt.
America stands for freedom.
So today we stand and shout
We shall rise from the ashes
Just as the phoenix lifted itself out.
