THE SPIRIT OF FREEDOM

They may have torn down buildings,
but they built up humanity.
They may have tried to destroy freedom,
but they created a better you and me.
They wanted to ruin peace,
but they brought us closer together.
They wanted to instill fear,
but they brought us unity forever.
We didn’t ask to be victims,
we just dealt with that hand.
We didn’t want to bear this sorrow,
we still strive to understand.
We see the dust has settled,
we uncovered the strong foundation.
We are a better society,
we are a courageous Nation.
They don’t have the strength,
we won’t give them that power.
They can clearly see now,
Our spirit of freedom still towers.
