A DAY TO REMEMBER: SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
(my son's 32 birthday)
By: Dorothy A. Martin
Even
in my wildest dream, I would not have believed
that in my life time, I would see the other side of the
moon. I didn't like what I saw, devastation, gloom and
doom.
A vignette only seen by us in movies or on TV, a real war
scene in our own front yard, lightening quick, it caught
all of America totally off guard.
Highjacked planes, on suicide maneuvers, deliberately
crashed into the World Trade Center - twin towers,
way up high, then the Pentagon, the first thought that
I had was "Oh My God," why, why, why?
Preposterous sight of flaming buildings crumbling down,
white smoke bellowing in the sky, ash and grit plummeting
like snow, on the ground.
An unspeakable heinous act of evil, which some people
claim, in the smoke clouds, they can see the face of
Satan, also known as the devil.
Now our country is against church and state, kids can't
pray in school, but on that day of terrorist reign,
everybody broke that rule.
We sing God Bless America, land of the free, but until we
can come together in peace, as one nation under God, we will
never live in harmony.
Thousands of innocent, good lives senselessly loss, but
in the book of life, their number was up, God wanted
them home with him, he's the boss.
With every experience in life there is a lesson to learn,
my hope and prayer would be that all countries come
together as one nation and the spirit and peace of God
they would all discern.
To the weak, faint and sorrow in heart, who are bereaved
by what you've seen or the loss of a loved one buried in the
rubble; earthly bonds may be broken, but look to the hills
from whence cometh thy help, God is a good source of help
in time of trouble.
